how to learn

i spent half an hour howling like a drunk wolf in front of a stone, nothing happens. I tried another stone, same thing. is there some secret? i just look at the tune being played and after that repeat it, using the nunchuck controller and the A button? or is there something more to do?--Twopeak 15:33, 3 January 2010 (UTC)

hey, i just realised that the holwing stones look a lot like gossip stones, did anyone else notice this or have any idea why they look like gossip stones? Template:Nosig

howling song accuracy

why did you list the song as goron lullaby when it does not sound like it and does not fit correctly Template:Nosig

If you discount the sixth note which Wolf Link howls, it matches exactly. Also, if you include the drawn out ending, it contains the last two notes of the lullaby. Since no other song even comes close to matching the notes, I think it's pretty certain that song 4 is at least based on the Goron Lullaby, if not an exact rendering. --Adam 02:29, 23 October 2007 (EDT)

I don't mean to argue, but it doesn't match exactly. In fact, it matches only in contour and not in intervals at all. I've no idea what the song is, but I'm certain it isn't the Goron Lullaby. As Adam said, it could still be a reference to the Goron's Lullaby even if it doesn't match it exactly. You said yourself there is some similarity. At very least, the existence of a relation between that particular Howling Stone and Goron's Lullaby is widely accepted by fans; that alone makes it relevant. — Hylian King ^[*] 23:33, 16 October 2012 (UTC)

I hate to reopen this, but this pretty clearly isn't the Goron's Lullaby. Not only do the intervals not match up, the contour only holds for the first five notes, after which the remaining notes bear no relation to the Goron's Lullaby at all. There aren't even the same number of them past that point. Unless something official has called this song the Goron's Lullaby, I'm pretty sure this is an incidental resemblance that fans have latched onto. And if it is just widely accepted by fans, as Hylian King puts it, we should note that that isn't the same as it clearly being that song. Osteoderm Jacket (talk) 07:17, 11 May 2014 (UTC)

lake hylian song

why do you think nintendo decided to suddenly use goron lullaby for lake hylia instead of lake hylia's own song, serenade of water. it would fit better than goron. Template:Nosig

As far as I can tell, none of the howling stone songs are thematically linked in any way to their TP locations, with the possible exception of #3 the prelude of light, which is found in the sacred grove. This is in the same region as the entrance to the temple of time, which is where it transports link in OoT. Also, the serenade of water is already featured in TP as rutela's theme. If you miss a howling stone, will the next one teach you telast hidden move? I've found the last howling stone (hidden village) and learned the jump strike from it. Song Origin

Would we say that Zelda's Lullaby is from OoT based on the fact that it's the first game the song is both named and playable? The song was first introduced in ALttP, so should we change it, or keep it as-is? Nicktheslayer 16:34, 4 November 2012 (UTC)

TPHD song change?

Just saw here how the Ballad of Gales was swapped out for New Wave. I haven't been able to find it online anywhere else, and I don't have the game. Ballad of Gales!

I can sort of understand why you don't label Goron Lullaby as such: only the first 5 of 7 (?) notes are a match. But the Ballad of Gales is absolute. It's an exact 4-note match. The accompanying instruments are very wind-waker esque. I know if I change it myself you'll change it back, so I'm skipping that part and going straight to Talk.JasonBall (talk) 02:27, 20 March 2016 (UTC)
