Template:Item The Goron Mask is a mask featured in Ocarina of Time and more prominently in Majora's Mask. It resembles the face of an average Goron.

Appearances, Location and Uses

Ocarina of Time

In Ocarina of Time, the Goron Mask was simply for amusement; it had absolutely no function other than to change peoples' reactions when Link talks to them. It can be borrowed from the Happy Mask Shop after completing the Mask Trading Sequence.

The Goron Mask is one of four Transformation Masks in Majora's Mask,[1] the other three being the Deku Mask, the Zora Mask, and the Fierce Deity's Mask. This version is much more powerful, in that it transforms Link into a Goron. The Mask contains the spirit of the Goron hero Darmani, and when Link dons the mask he inhabits the warrior's body. With the transformation comes all the special abilities of that species, including a new fighting style, the ability to carry Powder Kegs, a special "Goron Pound" attack,[2] and the ability to roll at high velocities while attacking with deadly spikes, which consumes magic power.

In Snowhead, the ghost of the Goron warrior Darmani lingers in Goron Village, waiting to be healed. Link can speak to him if he equips the Lens of Truth. After overcoming the initial shock that Link can see him, he asks him to follow him to his grave.[3] Darmani then relates the tale of how he died, but says he cannot rest.[4] He wishes to have his sorrows healed.[5] If the Song of Healing is played for him in the Goron Graveyard, he will be healed, and his soul will be encased in the Goron Mask.[6]
