A Weathercock, also known as a Weather Vane, is an object that appears in A Link to the Past, Link's Awakening, and A Link Between Worlds.

Appearances

A Link to the Past

The Weathercock[1] appears in the centre of Kakariko Village. If Link plays the Flute nearby it, a bird will appear from inside the statue. If Link plays the flute again the bird will appear and bring Link to one of eight different locations. In the Dark World, the Weathercock is replaced by a Gargoyle Statue that also is the entrance to Thieves' Town, where the fourth crystal is.

Link's Awakening

The Weathercock[2] appears in Mabe Village. When Link learns the Frog's Song of Soul from Mamu he must play it in a hidden room under the Weathercock, which will revive the Flying Rooster. There's also a missable photo in the DX version in which the Weathercock is visible.

A Link Between Worlds

In A Link Between Worlds, Weather Vanes serve as save points and are located at landmarks around Hyrule and Lorule similar to Skyward Sword's Loftwing Statues. Weather Vanes are found outside each dungeon and at other commonly visited locations, such as Ravio's Shop and Kakariko Village. After Link meets Irene, she will offer to transport Link to the location of any Weather Vane that he has activated previously.
