If you do fall in battle, my pal Sheerow here will swoop in to collect my property.
— Ravio

Sheerow is the bird like companion that tags along with Ravio in The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. It has white feathers on its body, blue wings, black eyes with red outlining them and two skinny, tan legs. Sheerow typically never speaks, but shows expressions through its actions.

Background

It is unknown how long Sheerow has traveled with Ravio, however it began traveling as a companion prior to the events of A Link Between Worlds. Other than this, little is know about Sheerow's background.

Biography

Sheerow is a flying creature that tags along with Ravio and helps him in his shop. If the player falls in battle, Sheerow will fly by the hero and collect Ravio's property and take it back to Ravio's Shop. Usually, Sheerow can be seen flying around Ravio. Since Sheerow does not play a major role in the game, little is known about it.

Theories

  • Since Ravio is the Lorule counterpart of Link, it is likely that Sheerow is the counterpart of Navi. Although Navi does not appear in this title, many details in the story are connected with The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, so Navi having a counterpart is not impossible. Furthermore, both characters' sprites are small, round, flying creatures.
  • Another thing leading to Sheerow being a counterpart of Navi is how Navi speaks to Link and gives him hints, while Sheerow is never displayed speaking with Ravio. Foil characteristics are displayed in other counterparts; Zelda is benevolent while Hilda is a little selfish, Link is brave while Ravio is cowardly, the townspeople in Hyrule are generally welcoming while the Lorule people are now. Same with the Zoras and other enemies, etc...

Trivia

  • Because little is known about Sheerow, it is unknown whether he is from Lorule or Hyrule. However, if he is Navi's counterpart, he would have to be from Lorule.
