The Arbiter's Grounds is the fourth dungeon in Twilight Princess, located in the Gerudo Desert. It contains four floors and two basements. The first section of the dungeon is similar to the Forest Temple in Ocarina of Time in that Link must track down and destroy four Poes in order to advance; these Poes look almost like the ringwraiths from Lord of the Rings. The item obtained in this temple is the Spinner, which is used to reach higher rooms. Link obtains this after defeating the temple's mini boss, a Death Sword. Deep within Arbiter's Grounds lays the skeleton of a fierce beast, Stallord. It is revived when Zant stabs a sword of Twilight energy through the creature's skull. What killed a beast of this size in the first place remains a mystery, but it can be speculated that a mass number of people trapped the creature in the sand pit until it starved to death. It can also be theorized that the soldiers that it summons are the soldiers killed by the attempt to finish the beast.

An Ancient Prison (Main Article: Mirror Chamber)

Arbiter's Grounds was built to house the most notorious of criminals, while they awaited an instant death. Their sentence was to be sent to the shadow world of Twilight, where they would never see the light of day again. The Mirror Chamber stands atop the ruins of Arbiter's Grounds, where the sacred Sages continue to guard the cursed grounds. Its appearance from afar resembles the Roman Colosseum.
