Point in which the split is created
The article says that the split occurs at the point where Ganon's arrest occurs. IMO the split occurs earlier, when Zelda returns Link to the Temple of Time (and probably the same day they first met). Also the scene with Ganon's execution in TP occurs some years after OoT according to Aonuma. Zeldafan1982 19:18, 13 July 2011 (EDT)

- The article might indeed have to be fixed (I remember when Aonuma commented about Link and Zelda managed to prevent Ganon from acquiring the Triforce). I do disagree with it being in the first encounter, though, since Link never travelled to any time before the moment he first touched the Master Sword, why would he be able to at the end? --User:K2L/sig 00:43, 16 July 2011 (EDT)
- About Aonuma's quote, I think you are referring to this one: "In the last scene of Ocarina of Time, kids Link and Zelda have a little talk, and as a consequence of that talk, their relationship with Ganon takes a whole new direction. In the middle of this game [Twilight Princess], there's a scene showing Ganon's execution. It was decided that Ganon be executed because he'd do something outrageous if they left him be. That scene takes place several years after Ocarina of Time." They certainly prevented him from entering the Sacred Realm. On the other hand he did get the Triforce (as the execution scene in TP shows). The question is how of course, but this is another topic. Back to the split, Link couldn't have returned to the point where he touched the Master Sword, because Zelda had already fled the castle (with Impa) at that point. Child Timeline
Ganondorf is not given access to the SR, but most likely has the ToP before the execution takes place, as a result of Link returning back with the ToC and thus splitting the Triforce in this branch. Otherwise, it's like the Goddesses granted him the ToP at the moment of the execution, which doesn't make sense. In TP Faron says to Link "In the land covered in twilight, where people roam as spirits, you were transformed into a blue-eyed beast... That was a sign... It was a sign that the powers of the chosen one rest within you...and that they are awakening." suggesting that this is what happened with Ganondorf's case. He had it beforehand (without knowing that) and it activated when he was impaled with the light sword. Zeldafan1982 19:46, 8 January 2012 (EST)
Downfall Timeline
If Link was defeated by Ganondorf, that means that battle toke place in the Adult Timeline. In other words, the Downfall Timeline is the Adult Timeline which Ganondorf finally toke over after the Hero of Time died, huh? So this is where the events of A Link to the Past and its follow-up take place.--Legend-tony980 05:43, 22 January 2012 (EST)
