Eldin Volcano is a location in Skyward Sword. It is a region beneath the clouds, in the land of Hyrule. It has very similar characteristics to Death Mountain, such as both being active volcanoes. Deep within the volcano itself lies the game's second dungeon, the Earth Temple and on the summit lies the Fire Sanctuary.

Appearance and Features

Eldin Volcano is the second location Link visits on his quest to find Zelda in the events of Skyward Sword. Eldin Volcano is an active Volcano, and is inhabited by Mogma. The Mogma have set up camp here to search for treasure, or Rupees. Recently, Bokoblins have began to appear all over Eldin Volcano, setting up camps and scaring of the Mogmas from the area. According to Fi, 65% of the volcano is covered by lava, and that a large number of creatures thrive here in the heat, and flames. Eldin Volcano contains many steep hills, caves, and even goes underground. Bombs are a key item to exploring this area, and are used to open up passages to other areas, and to find treasure. There are two Temples located in the Eldin Volcano region. One is the Earth Temple located at the near top of the Volcano. While another is the Fire Sanctuary which is located in the summit of the volcano. Later in the game Link visits the volcano for the third time, to locate and learn a part of The Song of the Hero from Eldin the Fire Dragon, but the Volcano erupts and Link is captured by Bokoblins, which have took advantage of the eruption and took over the entire volcano, after meeting the Fire Dragon the volcano calms down, and the Bokoblins drastically dissapear from the area. Enemies in Eldin Volcano include Red Bokoblins,Pyrups, Armored Pyrups, Fire Keese, Fire Toadpali, Moblins, Bokoblin Archers, and Lizalfos. Finally there is also a minigame called Thrill Digger and involves the use of the Mogma Mitts, and is run by Tubert.

Trivia

  • The name Eldin comes from a province in Twilight Princess called the Eldin Province. Like Eldin Province's Death Mountain, the Eldin Volcano also has a dungeon located near its summit, in this case, the Fire Sanctuary.
  • Many speculate Eldin Volcano to be the same mountain as Death Mountain in other Zelda Games
