Average Middle-Aged Man
A former thief specialized in the picking of locks, and living under the guise of being a mute ordinary man making his residence at the entrance of the Desert of Mystery.
Bomb Seller
A very talented creature in the art of constructing bombs who owns a Bomb Shop in the Dark World, exactly where Link's House appears in the Light World.
Bully and Friend
A boy on Death Mountain transformed into a monster due to the Dark World's magic when he came in search of the Triforce, with his friend transformed into a ball-like creature.
Dark World Shopkeepers
Strange creatures who sell Link few items in the Dark World. One of the Dark World Shopkeepers owns the Treasure Chest Game Shop in the Village of Outcasts.
Digging Game Operator
File:DigGamOperator(ALttP).gif A man who runs a Digging Game south of the Village of Outcasts in the Dark World.
Dwarven Swordsmiths
Once Link re-unites the two smiths, he will offer to temper Link's Master Sword into the Tempered Sword.
Flute Boy
The Flute Boy is a Hylian who enjoys playing music for the animals, but is cursed from the Golden Power's effect.
Flute Boy's Father
The Flute Boy's Father is a tired old man who Link finds in the Kakariko Village Tavern. He is usually sleeping and is the father of the Flute Boy whose apparition appears in the Haunted Grove.
Flute Boy's Duck
When Link plays the flute nearby the Weathercock in the centre of Kakariko Village, the duck who belonged to the Flute Boy will appear from inside the statue. If Link plays the flute again, the bird will appear and transport him to one of 8 different locations in the Light World.
Fortune Tellers
They charge between 10 and 30 Rupees for a fortune. Their shops can be found on North of Kakariko Village, along the northwestern shore of Lake Hylia, and north of the Village of Outcasts.
King Zora
The Great Zora is king of the Zoras, and can be found by the Zora's Waterfall in Zora's Lake.
Chris Houlihan
The owner of a secret room, with 45 blue rupees. His room is reached by using the Pegasus Boots starting from the Sanctuary to the secret entrance of Hyrule Castle's dungeon.
Giant Catfish
A Giant Catfish who dwells in Lake of Ill Omen in the Dark World. It appears and gives Link the Quake Medallion.
Hobo
File:Hobo.gif A man who sleeps underneath the bridge to the southwest of the Eastern Palace. He gives Link a Magic Bottle.
Hooded Shopkeepers
Hooded women who sell Link few items in the Light World.
Kakariko Village
Sahasrahla's Wife
Staying at Sahasrahla's house, she tells Link legends about the Hylia. She also tells Link to keep searching the village for someone who knows Sahasrahla's whereabouts.
Sahasrahla's Grandson
Sahasrahla's Grandson is the one who informs Link that his grandfather has gone into hiding in the Eastern Palace.
Man in the Former Hideout of Blind
Link encounters this character in the former hideout of Blind's gang of thieves in Kakariko Village.
Bug-Catching Kid
One of the characters Link meets in Kakariko Village is a sick boy named the Bug-Catching Kid, who cannot play outside with his net anymore due to the cold he has recently caught.
Innkeeper
The Innkeeper with an overgrown yard who tells Link about Zora's Lake and the Zora's Flippers. Later on, the man talks about the Flute Boy and his pet bird.
Bottle Merchant
Directly west of the Weathercock in Kakariko Village is a Bottle Merchant sitting on a carpet on the ground. Link can buy a Magic Bottle from him for 100 Rupees.
Drunk Man
File:KakarikoDrunk.gif An old man in the tavern who tells Link about the Great Fairy at the Waterfall of Wishing.
Sweeping Lady
A lady sweeping in front of her house. If Link sprinkles Magic Powder on her, she turns into a fairy.
Dashing Man
A nameless man wearing a red hat and a red jacket. He takes off whenever Link gets too close to him and is incredibly fast.
Informant Women
In Kakariko Village, Link will meet 2 women who inform the soldiers about his presence when he talks to them.
Human Cucco
The cucco inside the house of one of the Informant Women becomes human when Link sprinkles Magic Powder onto her. In this form, she scolds Link for teasing the other cucco.
Quarreling Brothers
File:QuarrelingBro.gif Two brothers who lives in the south part of the Kakariko Village. The elder one is angry about his younger brother and sealed the door to his room.
Race Operators
File:RaceOperator(Male).gifFile:RaceOperator(Female).gif A man and a woman who hold a race mini-game next to the Quarreling Brothers' house.
Treasure Chest Game Shop Owner
A hylian man who runs the Treasure Chest Game shop on the south end of Kakariko Village. Two more Treasure Chest shop are featured in the game: one run by a Forest Thief on the north end of the Lost Woods, and another one run by a Dark World Shopkeeper in the Village of Outcasts.
Kiki
Kiki is a rupee-loving monkey who helps Link unlock the first Dark World dungeon, the Palace of Darkness.
Loyal Sage
The Loyal Sage is an old man who can be found inside the Sanctuary. He protects Zelda and stays with her after Link rescues the princess from the castle dungeon.
Lumberjacks
A. Bumpkin and B. Bumpkin are the Twin Lumberjacks who can be found cutting a large tree to the north of Kakariko Village, near the Lost Woods. Their brother, Q. Bumpkin can only be found in the Game Boy Advance version of the game.
Mad Batter
The Mad Batter is a bat-like creature who halves Link's Magic Meter and is found in an underground alter by the Swordsmiths' house.
Shooting Gallery Owner
File:Alien1.gif The owner of a Shooting Gallery found south of the Village of Outcasts.
Soldiers
At the beginning of the game, various friendly soldiers wearing golden armor can be seen prior to them losing their minds as a result of Agahnim's magic. The soldiers all disappear after Link rescues Zelda from the castle dungeon, to be replaced by hostile enemy soldiers colored green, red, or blue.
Storytelling Creatures
Five strange creatures found in the Dark World who give Link tips for 20 Rupees. If Link pays, they also refill all of his hearts.
Thieves
Found in a human-imp shape in the Lost Woods or in a fox-like form in the Village of Outcasts, they can steal rupees, bombs and arrows from Link whenever they touch him. One Forest Thief runs a Treasure Chest Game shop on the north end of the Lost Woods, and one fox-like thief guard the first room of the Palace of the Four Sword in the Game Boy Advance version of the game.
Witch
The Witch is found brewing a magical brew in a cauldron outside her Magic Shop to the north of the Eastern Palace. The shop is run by her assistant who sells Red, Green, and Blue Potions. If Link gives the witch the Sleepy Toadstool found in the Lost Woods, she will be able to finish her brew and will make the Magic Powder. Once the brew is done, it can be found and obtained right beside Syrup's apprentice.
Witch's Assistant
The Magic Shop's keeper. If Link talks to her, she gives him a sample of Red Potion, effectively restoring all his heart containers. In the Game Boy Advance version of the game, the generic assistant of Syrup is replaced by Maple.
