Daira
Dairas are a race of humanoid alligators. They are expert axe-throwers, and their axes are able to slice through most shields, demonstrating its sharpness ratio in comparison to the conventional sword or weapons used by other enemies.[1]
In The Adventure of Link, Dairas are the most common foe encountered in the tunnels and caves riddling Death Mountain. Some varieties actually hurl their axes at Link with an endless supply, making them deadly at long range as well as close range.
In A Link to the Past, Dairas are found in dungeons of the Dark World. Called "Zâzakku" in Japanese, they were never officially named in English. They are intelligent and will often charge at Link to attack. A few sword swipes will finish them; the red variety shoots fireballs, thus may require more time and more hits to defeat.
