Template:Item The Wooden Shield is a largely durable shield that is obtained through an event in several The Legend of Zelda games. This shield is always superseded by a stronger, metallic version in order to protect against all types of attack, especially fire, of which the Wooden Shield, like the Deku Shield, is highly vulnerable to.

Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons

The Wooden Shield is the L-1 Shield in the Oracle Series. It can be upgraded to the L-2 Iron Shield and later the L-3 Mirror Shield through a Link Password.

Twilight Princess

The Wooden Shield is a replacement shield in Twilight Princess, available for purchase at the Malo Mart in Kakariko Village in the event that Link's original Ordon Shield gets burnt up. The Ordon Shield is the default wooden shield available in the game; it functions a bit differently than the Wooden Shield, with a smaller, more circular appearance, but is used in exactly the same fashion and shields well against similar attacks.

Phantom Hourglass

The Wooden Shield also appears in Phantom Hourglass, looking much like the Hero's Shield from The Wind Waker, exceptionally bearing a lobster symbol in place of the Hylian Crest, though the Triforce symbol is still evident. The Shield of Antiquity is a shield from Spirit Tracks which Niko says is the same shield as the Wooden Shield. [citation needed] The only difference between the Shield of Antiquity and the Wooden Shield is that it cannot be swallowed by Like Likes.
