Template:Place Town of Ruto is a town in a mountainous region of northwestern Hyrule in The Adventure of Link.

To receive Link's second spell, he must help a woman recover her stolen trophy.[1] The trophy, which is located in a cave in the Tantari Desert, is being guarded by a Goriya. As a reward for recovering her trophy from the monster, the woman allows Link to meet her uncle and learn the Jump Spell in the process.[2][3]

The townsfolk of Ruto give helpful advice to Link, such as warning him to not go south without a candle,[4] as well as giving him clues about the whereabouts of the powerful hammer.[5] It is also here that Link meets Error, who tells him about a hidden tunnel near the Harbor Town of Mido.[6]

The town may be named after Princess Ruto, one of the Seven Sages from Ocarina of Time.
