The Wind Temple is the sixth dungeon in The Wind Waker, located beneath Gale Isle. Link goes through this dungeon with Makar helping along the way. Link is able to receive the hookshot in this temple after defeating a red wizrobe mini-boss. The Boss of this Temple is Molgera. The Wind Temple was one of two dungeons that Link had to visit to restore power to the Master Sword.

It is hinted by both Tingle and Makar that this Temple is dedicated to the Goddess of Wind, Farore.

The Wind Sage was Fado until he was killed by Molgera. Following Molgera's death, Makar becomes the new Wind Sage.

Trivia

  • While not located in the Forest Haven, the Wind Temple has prevailing forest themes (it's sage is a forest character.) The Forest Temple in Ocarina of Time was originally intended to be the Wind Temple before it was changed. This is likely the reason the Wind Temple is associated with the forest.
  • The music in the temple has a resemblance to that of Faron Woods.
  • In Phantom Hourglass, a similarly-named dungeon called the Temple of Wind makes an appearance. This also happened to the Fire Temple with the Temple of Fire. The Temples of Power in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time were alternatively referred to as "Temple of X" (and therefore the Wind Waker ones may be), causing confusion in names.
  • Though they aren't confirmed or denied canon-wise as being Temples of Power, the Earth and Wind Temples were apparently present in inaccessible parts of the map in Ocarina of Time.
  • The Earth and Wind Temples cover the elements not already represented by the temples in Ocarina of Time, though they are more analogous to "shadow-" and "spirit-themed" levels in comparison.
