Seems cool. But all those links look messy. There is an alternative. We can use the ImageMap extension. It looks like it requires ImageMagick, and we seem to have the up and running now. On a similar note, the ImageLink extension would be very useful for the Nominated, featured, and admin templates.User:Matt/sig 18:11, January 3, 2009 (UTC)

Oh, we'd need ImageMap either way. But I'd say we just have the map with the links in it.User:Matt/sig 18:18, January 3, 2009 (UTC)
ImageMap is what they've used/have installed at Zeldapendium; sometime soon, I'll look at installing both these extensions, plus this one. User:Adam/sig 08:23, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
OK, ImageMap and RandomSelection are successfully installed, tested and working. Unfortunately ImageLink is a no-go, as there's currently no build compatible with MediaWiki version 1.13.x :( User:Adam/sig 20:06, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
At Zeldapendium we use both, ImageMap and the "normal" links - so the visitor can look for the position of an island or it's name. If you just want to look for an island and don't know where it is, the image map without any names is really unhandy --Pascal 22:24, 30 January 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Majora's Mask Images

Hey Adam. I've been going through the Wiki and adjusting the unsourced images. I noticed you've uploaded a bunch of Zelda Dungeon's images from the Majora's Mask Walkthrough. That's Awesome! They are almost all 512 × 384 pixels. Do you recall ever finding these types of images from anywhere else other than Zelda Dungeon? Since It's getting a bit annoying looking at my walkthrough to find the image, and then coming back here to make sure its the same image, and then finally putting the tag. If I knew you just got them all from ZD, I could just assume you got them from ZD and it will go a lot smoother. Mases 07:54, 6 January 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hi there. I'm pretty sure that all those images came from ZD. Back when I was trawling the web harvesting all the images I could find, your site seemed to be among the most comprehensive, so a lot of the images I uploaded probably cam from there! Unfortunately, I never kept a record of where they were each downloaded from, plus I've since reformatted my machine and lost all the sites I had bookmarked for Zelda images! But yeah, I'd say it's safe to assume that if you recognise an image as your own, it almost certainly is! User:Adam/sig 12:49, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

OOT Images

I noticed you were adding some OOT images. We recently posted a new walkthrough section of OOT at our site, covering the Gerudo section. http://www.zeldadungeon.net/Zelda05-ocarina-of-time-walkthrough-13.php Take a look at it. If there are some good ones there, feel free too add them. I didn't think the youtube ones were of the best quality. If there are a few [or one or two] good images you see but have slight 'ZD Guide' edits on them, let me know and I'll send you the layer without the ZD stamp. Mases 09:24, 18 January 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Mases, your new guide is awesome! I'll definitely be making use of one or two images - any chance you'd have a copy of this one without the icons? User:Adam/sig 09:46, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
Uploaded the image. Not sure exactly where you wanted to place it, but here it is. http://zeldawiki.org/Image:GerudoFortressMap.jpg Mases 06:09, 21 January 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Re: Glitch Question

I suppose we could remove the content, and put a "See Also _Glitches" part on the page. I will talk to Melchizedek (the head of the whole glitch project) to see what he thinks. User:Zien/sig 18:15, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

Interlanguage Links

Hi Adam! Any news from the staff board regarding your interlanguage link suggestion? --Pascal 13:51, 25 January 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Image Templates

Haven't been ignoring your messages. I've just not been on in a while. But it isn't something that I particularly know how to do, and would like to get some more info on it. I'll check it out before I upload anything else.Template:Nosig

Quite frankly, I don't see how this is true. You continued to upload images both after the first and second messages. So you could not have been away then. And about doing them, we have given you the link. Help:Image Sourcing. That tells you exactly how to do it.User:Matt/sig 15:36, January 31, 2009 (UTC)

Mail

Hi Adam! Did you receive my e-mail? --Pascal 22:38, 6 February 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hi, and thanks for the reminder as I'd actually missed your reply. I've requested that one of the administrators set up an account for you, and you'll get another email to confirm once it's done ;) User:Adam/sig 10:42, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

Question.

I'm not exactly sure how to deal with this and the few edits after it. It hasn't come up before. A little help please.User:Matt/sig 08:47, February 7, 2009 (UTC)

After a little digging, I think there's no need to worry about it. This gave me a clue, and after checking the guy's user profile at ZU it seems he just changed his name, and updated his theory here to reflect that. But if he'd added an edit summary, it would've saved us both the confusion! User:Adam/sig 08:58, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
Would you mind taking a look at those edits to the Poe article? I'm not exactly sure where to go there.User:Matt/sig 21:20, February 13, 2009 (UTC)
Looks OK to me; the only major change was the removal of duplicated information from the TP section. I just fixed the header sizes. User:Adam/sig 21:35, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
I was actually referring to the older stuff that Jimbo fixed. Whether we needed to tell Scattergories anything.User:Matt/sig 21:47, February 13, 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, I guess a quick note on multiple edits vs preview wouldn't go amiss... User:Adam/sig 21:59, 13 February 2009 (UTC)

About my uploaded images

Check my latest contributions, is that what you've been asking of me? Axio helped me understand, so I'm just checking if that's all I need to do. I'll go through the sites I used later on (as in, actually will - I have to go out right now), and I'll finish crediting the rest of the images.

But yeah, is that right what I'm doing now? GKANG 14:33, 3 March 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

ahh, I see. I was just really confused since I didn't realize you could edit the actual image page, so I thought I had to fill my article with templates. I've only been a wiki member for a few days, so I'm doing okay minus this hiccup considering the amount of time (: I'll get back to finding all of the other sites I used, and I'll correct the edits for the ZD finds. GKANG 01:17, 4 March 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Phantom Hourglass Enemy Gallery

Axiomist told me that you were working on these guides, but I decided to do one because, well, I wanted to haha. Anyway, I tried to keep it like the other enemy galleries, and I hope it's done alright. I cited all of the images I uploaded, and of course you can change it how you see fit. GKANG 08:42, 4 March 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I said Mases was, I think it's been his pet project. Adam was the one I said would be best suited to determine if your image citing is what's being asked of us. Sorry for the confusion.User:Axiomist/sig 00:04, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

Removal From Wiki

As you may or may not have known. Jason has removed Zelda Dungeon as a supporting site from the Wiki. Check out the secret place for more info. As an active admin who I've worked with a lot during my tenure here at the Wiki, your input would be much appreciated, but I also encourage you to not take my word for it and keep an open mind. Mases 07:46, 30 March 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Site Images

Images, such as the screenshots of layouts, or the images of custom images made for a website. I think we should leave those alone for now, until we come to a decision about what to do with them. Right now, I'm in the process of changing the obvious images. (Sprites, Screenshots), and am going to save the more difficult ones so we can handle on an individual basis. Mases 17:10, 10 April 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Yeah, that's another issue we'll have to discuss. I was trying to remove some of the now incorrectly-categorized stuff from Category:Copyrighted images. At the moment there's a manageable amount to check through (about 9 pages), but if we do all the other work first it'll grow into a much less manageable task to root out the stuff that shouldn't be in there. User:Adam/sig 17:21, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

Sorry Adam

calling you snobby? Ok, I've got it cleared out. I was thinking about IfIHaveTo, a guy that insists that anything i say is "cow-crap to the bone". Oh, ande sorry for that pointless argument between the iron-steel thing. Stalkid 18:25, 25 April 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

OK, no problem. Thanks for the apology :) User:Adam/sig 07:27, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
Nice to be back.Stalkid 18:42, 2 May 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Profile page

You could have at least let me do it... Mind if I change it around for a while till I get it right? Also, that wasn't the pic I was hoping to use. I just did what Steve had set up with his profile. Also, why can't it stay up? If it gets deleted, I'll just change it. Also, the other one is on my navbar. And what do you mean by "fixed-text"? Sorry- I'm still trying to get accumulated around here. Thanks. Alter  {T C B H } 02:28, 29 April 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I just noticed that you're actually using two nearly identical profile pics, with the text in slightly different places. You have two options really; if you're going to use multiple rotating pics, you need to ensure that they're displayed permanently somewhere else also. Or, you could to stick to one profile image, that way it will be used in multiple places and there won't be a problem. Also, it'll be easier to change if you decide you want to. I've changed back what I edited while you decide. (I didn't say "fixed-text", but fixed alt-text; that is the hidden text displayed when you hover over an image, which at a cursory glance was all I could see being changed by that template) User:Adam/sig 07:24, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
Hey, thanks a mill! I'm on vacation now, so I'll fix it when I get back in a few days. Alter  {T C B H } 22:02, 29 April 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Userboxes and sig font...

Hey. I went to your user page and saw your userboxes. I use Internet Explorer and normally when I go to user pages, including my own, the browser will always cut off the userboxes. However it doesn't seem to cut them off at all in your user page, how did you managed to do that? Also I seem to notice that some sigs use different font styles, and I'm also wondering how that is possible as well. Well, thanks. The Goron Moron 07:29, 4 May 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hi there! On the userbox thing, I just checked my userpage in IE7 and the boxes collapsed down like they always have. So actually, I have a question for you; how did you manage to get IE to work properly, for once? (Also, why would you want to!?) ;)
For custom signatures, there's a help page, as well as a category showing all the ones created so far. You can start with something quite basic, such as just changing the overall font an colour, or go for something more complex like multiple links and font styles/colours. Just be sure to stay within the rules shown on the category. Let me know if you have an trouble, and I can give you a hand. User:Adam/sig 07:42, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
Certainly. As for the userboxes, well I did nothing besides simply visit your userpage. Every other page I go to (except the userbox gallery) has the userboxes collapsed down, except yours. The Goron Moron 07:46, 4 May 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Screencap requests?

I've seen your name attached to a truckload of image edits and updates lately, so I'm guessing you're the go-to guy for this sort of thing. I'm about to re-play through A Link to the Past and I was wondering if you had any screencap requests?
--Rootbeer277 00:52, 31 May 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Well, I can think of a few enemies or dungeon traps that we're missing:
  • A decent sprite of the Spark, since the image at the moment is captured from YouTube
  • The wall-mounted cannons found in dungeons
  • Those boxes in dungeons that shoot fire when swinging your swordFile:LttP fireballstatue.gifFile:LttP fireswordtrap.gif Also got the trap that shoots fireballs at regular intervals, I don't think we have that one.
  • A shot of a floor tile room in action
With the addition of those (and some images I have for creatures that lack articles at the moment), I'm pretty sure we should have every enemy covered. Some items that we're missing are:
Also, some important places are missing images; there's no external shot of Link's House for example, and the image of Hyrule Castle is terrible. Other than that, any shots of interesting scenes you can think of would be nice, such as fighting Agahnim (showing his attacks in action), using the Medallions, the Flute-playing boyFile:LttP fluteboytree.gif etc. Thanks for offering to help out, and I hope that's not too much extra work for you :) User:Adam/sig 07:46, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
File:LttP linkhouseoutside.gif

You can check the recent changes list to see a few other images I've added. I've got a whole bunch more that would probably come in handy, I could email you a big batch of'em if you want?
