The Oracles are Din, Nayru and Farore. These women star in the games Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons. Nayru is the Oracle of Ages, while Din is the Oracle of Seasons. Farore, being the Oracle of Secrets in the cancelled third game of the planned trilogy The Legend of Zelda: The Mystical Seed of Courage, plays a very minor role using passwords to get special items if you are playing a linked game.

They also star a small role in The Minish Cap.

In relation to the Goddesses

The Oracles are named after the Hylian goddesses; Nayru, Goddess of Wisdom, Farore, Goddess of Courage, and Din, Goddess of Power. Debate over the meaning of this has come into topic on various occasions.

The Oracles' Purpose

The job of the Oracle of Seasons is to keep order in the world. When Din is kidnapped and forced into a crystal prison by General Onox, the seasons go awry and change at the slightest notice.

When Nayru's body is taken over by Veran, she uses Nayru's power to go back in the past and change the history; by her willpower, she informs Queen Ambi that she must build a black tower which will benefit the land and create a national spire that other lands will respect. In truth, Queen Ambi wanted to build it so she could see her love coming back from sea.

Farore always stayed in the Hall of Secrets, only talking if you needed to inquire about secrets from the linked game.

In the original Japanese text, the Oracles are referred to as "Shrine Maidens". This is the same title as the Maidens of Four Swords Adventures.
