Salvage Arm
The Salvage Arm is an attachment for Linebeck's boat in Phantom Hourglass. It is recived from Eddo. Unlike the cannon, the salvage arm is bought by blowing or yelling into the Nintendo DS's built-in microphone. The price is detirmined by how hard you yell or blow.
The salvage arm allows you to pull of treasure from the sea floor. Once a Treasure Chart has been found, an 'X' will appear on the Sea Chart. This is where treasure can be found. Once you activate the Salvage Arm, you begin a mini-game in which which you must lower the claw down avoiding obstacles such as rocky walls and Octomines, an underwater form of Octorok. There are also rupees in bubbles that can be collected but these are mostly just green rupees. Once you reach the treasure on the seabed, you have to pull it back up, again dodging the obstacles.
The Salvage Arm has a life gauge. It has a number of life points which are reduced by one for every obstacle you hit. If you damage the Arm to the point where you have no life points left, it is declared broken and can be fixed for a fee by the man in the shipyard on Mercay Island.
