A Sea Hat figurine, in the Nintendo Gallery.

A larger version of the common Pea Hat found only out upon the waves of the Great Sea. It is said to be related to Pea Hats, but this is more than likely only through appearance. Sea Hats congregate in packs, and hover close to islands in a number of areas of the Great Sea. Highly territorial, they will attack anything that gets too close to them.

Sea Hats attack by ramming their own bodies into ships, in order to knock its crew overboard, where they are helpless against their unrelenting attacks. When attacking, they dip their bodies into the water up to their nostrils, and propel themselves quickly towards their quarry; however, they do not often gain the element of surprise, as they're movement through water creates a strange, motor-like sound, created as the blades hit the water at rapid speed.

These flying fish can be killed by use of two Boomerang hits or one hit from any other projectile weapon. With the Boomerang, the first hit will cut their wing-fins off, and leave them immobile and helpless in the waters below where they flew -- the second attack from a boomerang will kill it instantly. Found in the Wind Waker.
