In Adventure of Link[1]
Acquired in the game's fifth palace, the flute allows Link to pass by what the villagers in Nabooru Town call the River Devil. Once the flute is played, this troublesome roadblock disappears. Later in the game the instrument is used to make the sixth palace appear when played in the middle of the "Three Eye Rocks."
In The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
This flute once belonged to a young boy who set out in search of the Golden Power and never returned. Link finds this instrument buried in a forest grove, and uses it to call a bird to transport him around the Light World.
