Template:Character Mipha (pronounced /ˈmiː.fə/ MEE-fə[1]) is a character in Breath of the Wild.[2]

Biography

Mipha is the Princess of the Zoras and a childhood friend of Link, and a Champion. She is described as being introverted and talks very little. She has a special power that no other Zoras have, but perhaps due to that she’s somewhat introverted and doesn’t talk much. She is in love with Link and made him Zora armor that will be given to the one she want to marry before the calamity happened.

Trivia

  • Interestingly, Mipha is one of the few Zora characters in the Legend of Zelda series to not have blue scales.
  • Mipha seems to resemble Prince Ralis from Twilight Princess, who is also a young royal Zora.
  • Unlike most main Zora characters, Mipha's name doesn't reference Princess Ruto from Ocarina of Time.

Etymology

The first two letters of Mipha's name, Mi, is a Japanese nanori reading of the Chinese character Hai, which means "ocean" and "sea".[3] [4]
