Secret Seashells are a special items in Link's Awakening, collected as part of a sidequest. Commonly found underneath bushes, rocks, underwater, or inside chests, 26 seashells are scattered across Koholint Island.[1] Though typically obtained one at a time, Link may receive two at the Seashell Mansion, as long as he is already carrying exactly five or ten seashells. Link receives the Level 2 Sword at the Seashell Mansion after collecting twenty or more seashells.[2] This sword upgrade, the most powerful in Link's Awakening, is twice as strong as the Level 1 Sword and can shoot Sword Beams whenever Link is at full health.
