Appropriate?

Now I'm not too sure here, but I don't think we typically do pages for people in the community, regardless of their notability. It's just not a good idea, in my opinion. What does everyone else think?User:Justin/sig 21:13, 6 August 2011 (EDT)

I don't think the page is necessary, and I can foresee problems arising about whether a page about an LPer is wiki-worthy because of varying popularity and being used as an outlet for advertisement. User:Pakkun/sig 22:38, 6 August 2011 (EDT)
Out of the 18 games listed now, only one has something to do with Zelda, and little was said about it. I think it would be better to move most of this page to the Nintendo Wiki. Maybe create a general "Let's Play" article with a link to it and other popular LPers. But how popular do they have to be to get mentioned on the wiki? And what's a good measure of popularity? User:Abdullah/sig 02:08, 7 August 2011 (EDT)
Personally, I don't think we should be making articles for ANY community figures. Mainly because people are going to start creating pages for people they think are popular in the community, those people might not like what's written, and it'll just end up messy. So my solution is that if they didn't participate in the creation of a Nintendo made Zelda game, they shouldn't have their own page.User:Justin/sig 04:28, 7 August 2011 (EDT)
Well in that case, wouldn't an article on LPing in general (with not as much focus on the individual LPers) make sense, as Abdullah suggested? If you'll look at the public chat Skype log you'll see that's what I had originally suggested be done with this article. In any case, such an article would help prevent the creation of mediocre articles such as this one (well, this one was mediocre when it started out. There was a similar one done for NintendoCaprisun a while back).
In any case, I don't really follow LPs so I don't really have any vested interest in such an article. I suggested it because I thought it would make a good addition to the Wiki's community pages. If people think otherwise, that's fine by me! — Hylian King [*] 09:32, 7 August 2011 (EDT)
