The Magnifying Lens is the last item in the Trade Sequence for Link's Awakening. It can be found by inserting the scale from Martha into the Mermaid Statue in Martha's Bay. The Magnifying Lens can be used to find things not normally visible to the human eye (making it quite similar in function to the Lens of Truth). Using it allows Link to encounter a Goriya in Toronbo Shores with whom he can trade for a boomerang. It allows Link to read the book found in the Library in Mabe Village with the fine print that contains the answer to the puzzle in the Wind Fish's Egg. However, it is possible to complete the puzzle solely by trial and error. As such, the Magnifying Glass is not required to complete the game, contrarily to what some believe.

In Link's Awakning DX, it also allows Link to see a friendly River Zora in a house in Animal Village. At this point, the Photographer will come in and take a picture of the two together.
