This article is about the enemy, for the object see Rope.

The Rope (ロープ, Rōpu) is a common enemy found in a variety of Zelda games, making its debut in the original The Legend of Zelda. It has appeared in every 2D Zelda game, along with appearances in The Minish Cap and Phantom Hourglass. These poisonous snakes seem docile under normal circumstances, but will charge at targets that pose a threat to their territory.[1][2] They are easily dispatched with most conventional weaponry. Unlike most enemies throughout the evolving Zelda series, the Rope has changed relatively little in attack pattern and appearance, however, in The Minish Cap after certain Kinstone Fusions, a Golden Rope will appear as a product; the Golden Rope is only different from the original incarnation in its color scheme and vitality. In Japanese, the Rope from The Adventure of Link is known as Aaneru (アーネル). The rope bears a resemblance to the whip from Spirit Tracks.
