("Temple of Power"??? Been a fan of the series since I was 2, and never heard this term at all. Nothing to support this phrase or its claim.)
m (The temple's location and the phrase "Temple of Power" are used somewhere down the line by Rauru or Shiek; only once, though, wish I could quote it.)

The Chamber of Sages

The Temple of Light (alternatively known as the Light Temple when compared to other temples) is the only known Temple of Power that is not located directly within Hyrule; instead, it lies in the Sacred Realm and is closely linked to the Temple of Time.[1]. This is the reason why the Prelude of Light warps Link to the Temple of Time instead of the Temple of Light.[2] It was the resting place of the Triforce before Ganon stole it.[3] The Temple of Light only appeared in Ocarina of Time, and only one of its chambers is visited: the Chamber of Sages where the Sages meet. As the Chamber also appears within the Pyramid in A Link to the Past[citation needed] and the Pyramid is shown in the background story for the Golden Land, it may be assumed that the the Pyramid is in fact the Light Temple.

Though Link in Ocarina of Time is not able to visit the Temple of Light on his own, he is often warped to the Chamber of Sages. The first time was when he took the Master Sword from the Pedestal of Time and opened the gate to the Sacred Realm. Rauru, the Sage of Light at that time, kept him in suspended animation within the Temple of Light until Link would be old enough to become the Hero of Time.[4] After that, every time Link awakened a Sage, he and the Sage were teleported to the Chamber of Sages to bestow their powers to Link in form of a medallion before returning to Hyrule again.

Trivia

  • The music in the Chamber of the Sages is a looped version of the music that plays when Princess Zelda tells Link the Legend of Hyrule earlier in the game.
  • It has been shown via emulation hacks (the debug rom) that the platforms in the background are, in fact, solid, and with aid of another hack it's possible to "visit" them. It is unknown whether this is a trace from the beta version of Ocarina of Time or just a glitch.
  • Considering its location in relation to the Temple of Time's, the Temple of Light may be dungeon Link encounters within the Temple of Time in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
  • Despite not being explored, the temple still receives recognition as the "Light Room" in Ganon's Castle.
