Hektan[1] (pronounced /ˈhɛktæn/ HEK-tan)[2] is the fifth boss in The Wand of Gamelon, and is located in Dodomai Palace.
Biography
Hektan is an old wizard with blue hair and robes. He is a minion of Ganon. He captures Lord Kiro by Ganon's order and holds him in Dodomai Palace, Duke Onkled's castle, after Ganon imprisons King Harkinian. Zelda fights Hektan in the palace. If Zelda speaks to Impa, who is located in another room, they witness Hektan who taunts Zelda by disappearing and reappearing randomly. She however defeats him, and he dissolves into a pool of blue liquid and leaves behind a beating Life Heart. Zelda frees Lord Kiro afterwards and learns from him that Duke Onkled had betrayed King Harkinian.

Etymology
Hektan may be derived from Hecate, the Greco-Roman goddess of witchcraft.
