Template:Place Nortinka is a location in The Faces of Evil. Along with Crater Cove and Goronu, it is one of the game's starting areas.
Features and Overview
Nortinka is a frozen, mountainous region in the north-west of Koridai. It is densely covered in snow and dotted with igloos, where the region's inhabitants live. A tall mountain also stands over the region, where Aypo the reader's library is located at the summit. Since Ganon's take over however, the area was abandoned and became overrun with Moblins and Goriyas, with some of them living in the igloos left behind. The Moblins in the area carry Snowballs, which are dropped after they are defeated.
Link enters the area from the right, where a tall, igloo-like structure can immediately be seen atop a hill. Inside lives Hamsha the elderly woman, who for unknown reasons, has become frozen as a result of Ganon freezing an unspecified fountain.[1] Link can throw a Firestone to thaw her, which will reward the hero with Water of Life. If Link owns a Canteen, Hamsha will also refill it for him. She however shortly freezes again soon after, but can be thawed any time necessary.
