The Wind Shrine,(TWW)[1] also known as the Wind God's Shrine,(TWW)[2] is a recurring location in The Legend of Zelda series. The Wind Shrine goes unnamed in Hyrule Warriors Legends.

Features and Overview

The Wind Waker

The Wind Shrine is a shrine on Dragon Roost Island dedicated to Zephos and Cyclos, two brother gods who control the Wind. Consequently, it bears two monuments to the brothers. Some time prior to Link's arrival at Dragon Roost Island, Cyclos's monument was destroyed and Cyclos flew into a rage, creating cyclones across the Great Sea to harass seafarers.[3]

Upon approaching the Wind Shrine, Link can examine the two monuments.[4][5] By drawing the Wind Waker in front of the intact monument, Link can learn the "Wind's Requiem",[6] granting Link an ability that allows him to change the direction of the Wind. After learning the monument's song, Zephos will appear to Link and compliment the breeze.[7] Afterwards, Zephos will introduce himself and address Link as the new Wind Waker.[8][9] He also explains how the "Wind's Requiem" can be used to manipulate the Wind, musing that it can be used for both good and evil,[10] citing his brother, Cyclos, as an example of the Wind's misuse.[3] Before leaving Link's side, Zephos asks that Link punish his enraged brother for his behavior.[11]
