Originally, Lakitu is a Mario character, but like many others he has come into the Zelda Universe.
Quote from The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap Lakitu figurine: "Appears in the sky. They float on clouds. They dont move, but they throw lighting bolts. Steal their clouds with the Gust Jar."
In Super Smash Bros. Brawl
In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Lakitus appear as assist trophies. Their appearance is the same one used in Super Mario Bros. and they attack by throwing Spinies at players.
