Template:Character Mama Turtle is a character in A Link Between Worlds. She is the mother of the baby Turtles.
Biography
Mama Turtle inhabits Lorule Lake. When Link first encounters her, she pleads for the young hero to find her baby Turtles.[1] The baby Turtles are scattered throughout the lake and require Link's help to return to their mother. One baby Turtle is found at the northern section of the lake, clinging to a wall. To rescue him, Link must Wall Merge and reemerge from between the baby Turtle and the wall.[2] After Link rescues a baby Turtle, the Mama Turtle will remind the young hero that there are still more missing.[3]
One of the other baby Turtles is found in the shallow waters of Lorule Lake, being bullied by several Ku. Link must kill them in order to set it free, and the baby Turtle will thank the young hero afterwards.[4] The final baby Turtle is located on the western side of the lake on a small portion of land. He has been flipped over, and cannot roll back over. To save him, Link must pick him up by pressing A.[5][6]
When Link finds two of the three baby Turtles, the Mama Turtle will hint either where the final one is or what condition it might be in.[7][8]
Once all three baby Turtles have been rescued, they will all climb onto the Mama Turtle's back and she will thank the young hero but inform him that she is unable to give him anything in return, but offers to ferry him around the lake whenever he wants.[9] This is the only means to enter Template:C, as it is located on an elevated volcanic island. She is also useful for Link to retrieve the objects above the small pinnacles throughout the lake, such as Rupees or Hearts.
