It aims to act as a hub for information on the Legend of Zelda games - created by users for users.
Origins
The original Zelda Universe Wiki (ZUW) was originally created as an act of horrible boredom in early 2005. Yami and Jason thought one random day, "How about a Zelda Universe Wiki?" and so it was done. That Wiki became full of useless information, not only about the Zelda series, but also about Zelda Universe and its crazy community! The Wiki was also to be used to host Zelda Universe's Zelda Encyclopedia. On an older version of ZU, the encyclopedia existed as a list of words from the Zelda series with short definitions but with the help of the ZUWiki, the Zelda Encyclopedia expanded and became much more detailed as well. It served Zelda Universe for over a year, before it crashed during a server move.
Today
The wiki has since been moved to another new server, under a new name, with a new philosophy, yet still just as true to ZU as it was before. Zelda Wiki.org (ZW) aims to eventually become one of the most comprehensive Zelda Wikis around, aiding eventually not only Zelda Universe but Zelda sites across the internet, connecting the Zelda community as a whole through one amazing encyclopedia. While it is currently lacking in articles, and in some respect, quality, this will hopefully change in coming months. As the wiki gathers affiliations and users, and makes its mark across the internet, it hopes to achieve the type of standards set forth by larger Wiki-based sites such as Wikipedia. Of course, it is hoped that it is upheld even today.

Philosophy
Zelda Wiki.org is a project that requires an open mind to connect to: Whose site it truly currently belongs to is ambiguous, because everyone who wishes to use this Wiki as "their" Zelda encyclopedia has the right to. So in a sense, it is everyone's.
