Theory

Prior to her official reveal as a new character, Lana briefly appeared in the initial reveal trailer and in official art also depicting Link and Princess Zelda. She has been speculated to have some connection to Cia, due to a similar hair color and her hair tie bearing similarity to Cia's sorceress outfit. She was initially thought by some to be Cia's appearance before becoming corrupted by the dark forces, but has since been referred to as a separate character. It is possible that she is a counterpart of sorts to her.

Some have also speculated her to have some relation to Nayru, due to her blue hair and outfit, focus on magic spells, and her name, which bears resemblance to Lanayru.
