The Honeycomb is the sixth item in the Trading Sequence in Link's Awakening. After Link receives the Stick from the Monkeys who built the bridge to Kanalet Castle Tarin will appear next to a tree in the Ukuku Prairie. Tarin will ask Link to borrow the Stick, so that he can knock down the Beehive in the tree. Giving Tarin the Stick engages a humorous cut-scene where Bees emerge from the fallen beehive and chase Tarin away. Afterwards, the honeycomb that is left behind can be picked up. The Honeycomb is then passed on to the Chef Bear in Animal Village.

To progress further in the game, it is mandatory that Link gives the Honeycomb to the Chef Bear, or else Marin will not help Link move the Walrus from the entrance to the Yarna Desert.
