The Anubis is a mummified, jackal-like creature that resides in the Spirit Temple in Ocarina of Time. An Anubis only moves when Link moves and only attacks when he attacks. Whenever Link moves, an Anubis moves in the opposite direction, and whenever an Anubis is attacked with the sword, it attacks back with fire.

The only way to defeat an Anubis is to use fire. If an Anubis is present, there will always be a fire trap in the room. Link must trick the Anubis to move it into the trap. However, a Fire Arrow or Din's Fire will also do the job.
