R-regrettable... Although my rival, you were spectacular. I shall take my bow by opening my heart and revealing my wisdom... Belief or disbelief rests with you. To die without leaving a corpse... That is the way of us Garo.
— Garo Robe

The Garo Robe are ninja shades from the Garo race, that lurk unseen in Majora's Mask. In life, the Garo were long time enemies of the Ikana,[1] who have since became Stalchildren and Stalfos. They are remains of a group tasked with investigating Ikana, their leader later set up another operation to spy on Milk Road, his hood coming into the possession of the Gorman Brothers in the form of the Garo's Mask. These spirits, known as a Garo Robe, are swift assailants, and continue to spy on the haunted Ikana Castle, unable to rest.

To speak to a Garo Robe, Link must wear the Garo's Mask. However, they will immediately see through the disguise and attack the impostor. Victory is rewarded with a bit of hidden information before the Garo explodes.

Garo Robe also have the power to see Link while wearing the Stone Mask.

The leader of the Garo Robe is the Garo Master, who Link defeats in the Stone Tower Temple. For defeating the Garo Master, the young hero is rewarded with the Light Arrows.

Trivia

  • The Poe Collector bears a fair resemblance to the Garo Ninjas, although he wears purple and has a single, red eye instead of two green ones.
  • Although they appear to be humans with cloaks, Pamela's Father in the Music Box House claims Garo are empty shells, animated by willpower. This is confirmed when the Garo leave Ikana Canyon with the rest of the ghosts.
  • Garo Robes bear a moderate similarity to Subrosians.
