The Jabber Nut is a key item in The Minish Cap that allows the consumer to communicate with the Minish[1]. Very early in The Minish Cap, Link must consume one in the Minish Woods in order to understand the local Minish, after Festari, the only Minish in the Minish Village who understands human languages, directs Link to its location within a barrel house[2] nearby, inside the Minish Village. Without the Jabber Nut, the Minish language looks like "picoco pico ripico!"[3] for example, just simple unintelligible gibberish to Link and Ezlo[4].
