{{Term|MM3D|Twinmold}}'s {{Term|MM3D|Boss|link}} room is located above the room where the {{Term|MM3D|Garo Master|link}} is fought. To defeat {{Term|MM3D|Twinmold}}, {{Term|MM3D|Link|link}} must attack its vulnerable heads and tails. The most effective method for defeating {{Term|MM3D|Twinmold}} is to use the {{Term|MM3D|Sword|link}} while wearing the {{Term|MM3D|Giant's Mask|link}}, which allows {{Term|MM3D|Link}} to grow to the size of {{Term|MM3D|Twinmold}}. However, {{Term|MM3D|Link}} will not be able to use {{Term|MM3D|Targeting|link|display=Z-Targeting}} while using the {{Term|MM3D|Giant's Mask}}. As the {{Term|MM3D|Giant's Mask|display=Mask}} drains {{Term|MM3D|Link}}'s {{Term|MM3D|Magic Meter|link}}, {{Term|MM3D|Link}} can replenish it by destroying the pillars found throughout the area, which contain {{Plural|MM3D|Magic Jar|link}}. It is possible to defeat {{Term|MM3D|Twinmold}} without the {{Term|MM3D|Giant's Mask}} by shooting {{Plural|MM3D|Arrow|link}} at {{Term|MM3D|Twinmold}}'s weak points. {{Plural|MM3D|Ice Arrow|link}} are effective against {{Term|MM3D|Twinmold}}'s red tail, as are {{Plural|MM3D|Fire Arrow|link}} against its blue tail.

 

If {{Term|MM3D|Link}} strays too far from the initial platform during the battle, even if he is wearing the {{Term|MM3D|Giant's Mask}}, he will sink into the {{Term|MM3D|Sand|link}}. This causes him to be returned to the {{Term|MM3D|Stone Tower Temple|link|display=Dungeon}}'s entrance. {{Term|MM3D|Twinmold}} may fly past this boundary in an effort to lure {{Term|MM3D|Link}} into the trap.

 

Once {{Term|MM3D|Link}} has dealt sufficient damage to one half of {{Term|MM3D|Twinmold}}, its body will explode, with its head crashing into the {{Term|MM3D|Sand}}. Once both parts of {{Term|MM3D|Twinmold}} are defeated, {{Term|MM3D|Link}} will receive a {{Term|MM3D|Heart Container|link}} and {{Term|MM3D|Twinmold's Remains|link}}, freeing the final {{Term|MM3D|Guardian Deity|display=Giant|link}} who was trapped in {{Term|MM3D|Twinmold}}'s body.<ref>{{Cite|You have just freed the innocent spirit that this dark mask had kept imprisoned within the body of evil Twinmold.|Game Screen|MM}}</ref> {{Term|MM3D|Twinmold}}'s defeat lifts the curse on {{Term|MM3D|Ikana Kingdom|link|display=Ikana}}, causing the undead monsters brought to life by the curse to disappear.

 

 

While in giant form, {{Term|MM3D|Link}} can throw punches and roll in order to hit and stun {{Term|MM3D|Twinmold}}. In order to stun {{Term|MM3D|Twinmold}}, it has to be hit ten times or hit with three combos to knock him down while he is flying. If {{Term|MM3D|Twinmold}} burrows while flying, the stun counter will reset. Alternatively, {{Term|MM3D|Link}} can throw one of the two giant {{Plural|MM3D|Boulder|link}} at {{Term|MM3D|Twinmold}} to stun it immediately. When stunned, {{Term|MM3D|Link}} can grab its tail and spin it around, leading to a whip onto the ground, or choke it by grabbing its head. When spinning or choking {{Term|MM3D|Twinmold}}, more damage is dealt when spinning the Circle Pad around.
