(automatic date input was setting the date to the latest revision to the page, not the date of the revision the template was put on. Changed it to be added manually via a second parameter (now optional to avoid unsightly code).)
(Re-adding module invocation which added the category Category:Files ready for deletion which is useful to admins. The benefit outweighs the performance cost in this case.)

Purpose

This template marks a page for deletion, to be carried out by Staff at their earliest convenience.

Articles should be marked for deletion if they don't follow the Guidelines.

A file should be marked for deletion if it is:

  • unused
  • superseded by another file
  • a duplicate
  • violating copyright laws

The uploader of a file may request its deletion for any reason.

Usage

Place the following at the top of the page:
