Malanya Spring is a recurring location in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2]

Features and Overview

Breath of the Wild

Malanya Spring is a Great Fairy Fountain located east of the Horse God Bridge in the Faron Grasslands. It is surrounded on most sides by Ibara Butte. A shallow pond can also be found on the Spring's edges, which contains Lilypad.

When Link first finds Malanya Spring, it will have shriveled up into a bud. Malanya's voice can be heard from inside, asking Link to listen to his story.[3] If Link agrees, Malanya explains that he can help with the pain of losing a Horse companion, but he needs 1,000 Rupees to restore his power.[4] Should Link give the Rupees to Malanya, the Spring will bloom.[5] From then on, Link can visit Malanya Spring in order to revive deceased Horses.[6]

During the "EX Ancient Horse Rumors" Side Quest, which is exclusive to The Champions' Ballad DLC Pack, Link reads the Super Rumor Mill V3 and learns that the Ancient Bridle can be found at a Spring "where a horse spirit resides."[7] Subsequently, Link can find a Hidden Chest submerged in the Water near Malanya Spring, which he can pull to the surface with Magnesis to receive the Ancient Bridle.[8]
