Red Stalfos appear in Dungeons in The Minish Cap, specifically the Palace of Winds and Dark Hyrule Castle. Unlike their Blue counterparts, they fling bone projectiles at Link and jump less frequently.
A Link Between Worlds
Red Stalfos appear in the Tower of Hera in A Link Between Worlds. Red Stalfos will attack Link by running up and hitting him, or throwing bones as a ranged attack. Their ability to throw bones makes them different and more dangerous than their weaker variant, Stalfos. In the Tower of Hera, they appear as a Sub-Boss that Link must fight to progress through the Dungeon. When Link enters the room on the sixth floor, the door which he entered from will shut and lock. Five Red Stalfos will stand from the piles of bones that they previously were, and attack Link. Once Link defeats all the Red Stalfos, the doors will unlock and a Portal will open on the ground, which will transport him to and from the entrance of Tower of Hera.
