Nack
Nack is a recurring character in The Legend of Zelda series.[2][3]
Biography
Breath of the Wild
Nack is a Hylian farmer who lives in Hateno Village. During the day, he can be found tending to his garden near the Village's entrance. At 9:00 PM, he returns to his House north of his field, which he shares with Nikki, Nebb, and Narah. Once there, he sleeps in his Bed until 5:00 AM.[4][5]
When Link first speaks to him, Nack will offer directions to points of interest in Hateno Village.[6] If Link asks about a "strange place," Nack believes he is talking about the Kochi Dye Shop operate by Sayge, whom he refers to as "Mr. Toothy."[7] Though he acknowledges that Sayge is masterful at Dyeing clothes, he is also considers him to be strange.[8]
If Link asks for directions to a "very strange place," Nack will point him towards the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab.[9] He is suspicious about the research that its director, Purah, conducts, as he does not know how it is supposed to keep Hyrule safe.[10] In addition, he states that Purah does not like kids much, which has lead to the children of Hateno Village taking an interest in her.[11]
Finally, if Link asks for a place to rest, Nack claims The Great Ton Pu Inn is a typical choice for travelers.[12] However, he also mentions the model houses created by Bolson Construction behind the East Wind.[13] Nack is interested in the new Houses, and he wishes he could sleep in one.[14]
When Link speaks to Nack while carrying the Blue Flame, he recognizes it as belonging to the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab.[15] He then admits that he does not mind Purah,[16] since he believes the ultimate goal of her research is to help the people. of Hyrule.[17] If Link speaks to Nack again, he says to hurry and bring it to the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab.[18] While he does not know what they are researching, he believes it will be beneficial for the people of Hyrule.[17]
