Karin is a recurring character in The Legend of Zelda series.[2][3]

Biography

Breath of the Wild

Karin lives in the Village Chief's House in Hateno Village with her parents, Reede and Clavia. She spends her days walking back and forth throughout the Village.

When Link speaks to Karin during the day, she will begin to argue with him, but she becomes embarrassed once she realizes she is addressing the wrong person.[4] If Link asks if she was speaking to him, Karin explains that she thought he was either Azu or Sefaro.[5] However, she encourages him to listen to her anyway.[6] Karin explains that she saw a young girl outside of the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab.[7]

Unfortunately, when Karin tried to tell an adult about what she saw, she was told that the only people who live there are an old man and woman.[8] Despite this, Karin still asserts that she saw a Sheikah girl.[9] She laments that people never listen when kids have something to say.[10] Due to Azu and Sefaro playing spies, Karin has heard a lot about the girl, but they have yet to catch sight of her.[11] In her sleep, Karin will occasionally mention the girl.[12]

During Rain, Karin will stay inside the Village Chief's House. She sits on the floor as she reads a Book. It contains a story about a prince who encountered something strange on his way to the castle.[13]

Karin will follow Link around if he passes by while carrying the Blue Flame. Seeing it up close, she says that it looks like a star.[14] She also asks Link where she can get one.[15]
